Strengthen Oklahoma Homes Builds Momentum with Statewide Application Period

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma Insurance Department (OID) announced that applications for the Strengthen Oklahoma Homes (SOH) Program will open statewide at 12 p.m. (noon) on Monday, October 12, 2026.

The Strengthen Oklahoma Homes Program provides grants of up to $10,000 per approved household to help eligible Oklahoma homeowners strengthen their homes through approved construction projects designed to meet the FORTIFIED standard established by the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS), specifically the FORTIFIED Home – Roof™ – High Wind designation with the Hail Supplement.

Since the program’s initial launch, more than 500 Oklahoma homes have completed the program and received FORTIFIED certification, helping homeowners strengthen their homes against severe weather.

The Q4 application period will be available to eligible homeowners statewide. Applicants are encouraged to review program requirements and gather the necessary documentation before applications open.

The Strengthen Oklahoma Homes Program helps homeowners strengthen their homes against severe weather and may provide opportunities for potential home insurance discounts.
